The movie is based on a 1961 novel by Richard Yates.
Revolutionary road is about a married couple , Frank (Leonardo Dicaprio) and April Wheeler (Kate Winslet). It takes place in the 1950s, about a typical American family who is awaken by the realities of life. Frank and April moves to a suburban home in Revolutionary Road, filled with hopes and dreams that seemed to result as just fantasies. Ever since they moved, the couple have always considered themselves special from other people. But as time passes, they each realize they're no different from everybody else. The rude awakening leads to arguments, affairs and disappointments.
I'm not a big fan of the plot. But the way the actors portrayed the roles, and how each dialogue was expressed, made the film astonishing. Come on, i think any movies with Leo and Kate can NOT go bad, its just not possible.
